The Legend of Chinese New Year’s Monster Nian
An historical Chinese legend tells of a man-eating predatory beast called Nian, highly fierce, with an extended head and sharp horn. Nian dwelled deep in the sea the whole year lengthy, but on every Chinese New Year’s Eve it would climb onto the shore to eat livestock and injury human beings in a close to-by means of village. Therefore, each Chinese New Year’s Eve, all the villagers may take their young and old deep into the mountains to conceal from Nian.
One Chinese New Year’s Eve a gray haired guy appeared in the village. He requested permission to keep for the night and warranted all people that he would push back the beast. No one believed him. In addition, the vintage man steadfastly refused to go to the mountains to conceal. Seeing that he could not be persuaded, the villagers departed with out him.
When the beast arrived on the village to break havoc as commonplace, it turned into met with a sudden burst of exploding firecrackers. Startled by using the noise, the flashes of light, and pink banners flying about, it abruptly became and fled!
